Raindrop Turkish House Volunteers Assist Tornado Victims to Clean Up Their Neighborhood



Oklahoma City Raindrop Foundation is in the process of mobilizing efforts with members and community leaders to help victims in the aftermath of Moore tornado. A number of volunteers from Raindrop Turkish House helped with the clean-up efforts last week to show their support and solidarity with their neighbors in Moore, Oklahoma.

  The Oklahoma City Chapter of the Raindrop Turkish House organized a Friday social night to raise money for the tornado victims in Moore. "All the food sold, was made my turkish ladies who volunteered to help." Raindrop director said. " We, Turkish- Americans, are so sad about the victims of tornado which happened on May 20, 2013." He added. He also said that they really appreciated the community leaders for sharing the feelings and making donations to the Helping Hands campaign which was organized by the Raindrop Turkish House.

Mr orhan osman and a group of Raindrop volunteers delivered food donations to the victims of May 24 tornados in Oklahoma. The volunteers purchased food with the money they raised from the small Turkish community who live near Oklahoma Raindrop Turkish House. They traveled to two of the tornado hit areas in Oklahoma where they met residents and delivered the donations to the needy.

Dear Friends,

We are deeply saddened by the loss and the damage because of the Tornado in Moore area. Our hearts and thoughts go to all of those who were affected by the Tornado but people need more than that.

Federal Government has declared a major disaster in the State of Oklahoma following a massive tornado that destroyed or heavily damaged lots of homes, schools etc. in the southern part of the state.

Raindrop Helping Hands launches a campaign that focuses on all aspects of the relief efforts following Tornado pass through Moore, OK.

Festival Celebrates Turkish Culture In Oklahoma City

DSC 0333Oklahoma City's 4th Annual Turkish Festival drew a steady crowd all day last Saturday, surging to a nearly packed house by early evening. The event was an inviting mix of authentic Turkish food, such as doner, dolma, pastries, baklava, kabab. After tasting the delicious Turkish dishes, visitors had the pleasure of drinking Turkish Tea in the oriental corner. Water Marbling (Ebru) art was one of the focus points as the guests experienced hands-on painting on the water.
